This privacy policy explains how Power and Myth collects, uses, stores, and protects the personal information you provide. It applies to information collected through our Stan Store page, the powerandmyth.com website, our YouTube channel, and any related lead magnets, email communications, or digital products. Please read this policy carefully.

1. Who we are

Power and Myth is an independent creator-run business operating from the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK GDPR and EU GDPR, Power and Myth is the data controller responsible for the personal data we collect from you. You can contact us at hello@powerandmyth.com.

2. What information we collect

We collect only the information needed to deliver the resources you request and to send you content you have agreed to receive. Specifically:

  • Name (provided when you complete a signup form)
  • Email address (provided when you complete a signup form)
  • Engagement data from our email service, such as whether you opened an email or clicked a link (collected automatically by MailerLite)
  • Public comments and interactions on our YouTube channel (governed by YouTube and Google’s own privacy policies)

We do not collect financial information, postal addresses, phone numbers, or any special-category personal data such as health information, religious beliefs, or political views.

3. How we collect your information

Most of the information we hold comes directly from you when you:

  • Complete a signup form on our Stan Store page (stan.store/powerandmyth) to request a free resource such as the Seven INFJ Archetypes guide
  • Complete a signup form on the powerandmyth.com website, where applicable
  • Reply to or interact with one of our emails

Some information is collected automatically when you engage with our emails, such as opens and clicks, recorded by MailerLite to help us understand which content is useful.

4. Why we collect your information and our lawful basis

Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, we must have a lawful basis to process your personal data. For Power and Myth, that basis is your consent. When you complete a signup form, you actively tick a consent box agreeing to receive emails from Power and Myth. You may withdraw consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us at hello@powerandmyth.com.

We use your information to:

  • Send you the free resource you requested
  • Send ongoing emails relating to Power and Myth content, including new videos, archetypal essays, and information about products or services we offer
  • Understand which content our subscribers find most useful, so we can produce more of it

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for marketing purposes.

5. Who we share your information with

We use a small number of trusted third-party service providers to deliver our work. Each one acts as a data processor on our behalf and is bound by its own data protection obligations. The services we use are:

  • MailerLite (UAB MailerLite, headquartered in Lithuania, EU) for storing your name and email address, and for sending and managing our email communications. MailerLite stores data on servers in Germany and the Netherlands. Their privacy policy is available at mailerlite.com.
  • Stan Store (Stan, Inc., USA) for hosting our signup forms and lead-magnet delivery. Stan Store’s privacy policy is available at stan.store. Data submitted via Stan Store is then passed to MailerLite for storage and email use.
  • YouTube and Google for hosting our channel content. Any data collected when you watch our videos or interact with the channel is governed by Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Amazon KDP for distributing our books. Purchases of our books are transactions between you and Amazon, governed by Amazon’s privacy policy. We do not receive any personal information about book purchasers beyond aggregated royalty data.

We do not share your information with any party not listed above.

6. International data transfers

Some of our service providers, including Stan Store, are based outside the UK and EU. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK and EU, we rely on the safeguards set out in UK GDPR and EU GDPR for such transfers, including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable. MailerLite, our primary data processor for email, stores all subscriber data within the EU.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep your personal data only for as long as you remain subscribed to our emails. If you unsubscribe, your data is removed from our active list and retained in a suppression record solely to ensure we do not contact you again in error. You may request complete deletion at any time by emailing hello@powerandmyth.com.

If you have not opened or clicked any of our emails for a sustained period (typically twelve months), we may remove you from our active list as part of routine list hygiene.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access: to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification: to request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to erasure: to request that we delete your personal data
  • Right to restrict processing: to request that we limit how we use your data
  • Right to data portability: to request a copy of your data in a structured, commonly used format
  • Right to object: to object to our use of your data, including for direct marketing
  • Right to withdraw consent: to withdraw your consent at any time, by clicking unsubscribe in any email or contacting us
  • Right to lodge a complaint: with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) or your local supervisory authority

9. Cookies and tracking

The powerandmyth.com website does not currently set its own cookies. Third-party services we use, including Stan Store and YouTube, may set their own cookies when you interact with them. These are governed by each provider’s own cookie and privacy policies.

Our emails sent via MailerLite include standard tracking that records when an email is opened and which links are clicked. This helps us understand which content is most useful to subscribers. You can opt out of this tracking at any time by unsubscribing.

10. Children’s data

Our content is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of sixteen. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at hello@powerandmyth.com and we will delete it promptly.

11. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal data we hold. Our email service provider, MailerLite, is certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022, the international standard for information security. Access to subscriber data within Power and Myth is restricted to the business owner.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The most recent version will always be available at this URL, and the “Last updated” date at the top of the policy will indicate when it was last changed. Significant changes will be communicated by email to current subscribers.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO):
